Hands clutch cold handlebars. Gloves got left behind,
Credit card got stole -
That or pocket has a hole
But I don’t know this yet.
‘Cause I’m wholly wasted.

Capsize Drunk.
Bourbon danced on
Whisky sunk.

Silent swerve, street light solace.

Uphill battle.

And the bars’ lights go out, as if to say without a doubt that
I was only the friend they let tag along tonight but never quite remembered my name.

Stools stare.
I tell myself – I don’t care.
I don’t, I swear.

Stop tears. Breathe steady
Steady – hold cold body
Up hill battle.

I pass by the house of someone I once loved.

Handle clutch
Head down, eyes shut.
Stomach jerk.

The brakes
